The Cost-of-Living Crisis is having a horrifying impact on people’s lives, with millions being driven into poverty and many into total destitution. After a mini budget that sent the pound tumbling and interest rates soaring the Tory government have been roundly derided for their economic incompetence.
Tory tax cuts for the wealthiest may have been, in part, u-turned upon due to public pressure, however, they still plan to pay for it with another deadly wave of austerity.
That means cuts to essential services and wages, terms and conditions.
WE CAN’T LET THIS HAPPEN!
We need urgent, significant intervention. We at The People’s Assembly have been at the forefront of helping to build public opposition to austerity and other government failings over the past decade, mobilising millions in some of the biggest demonstrations this country has seen.
WE NEED LOCAL AND NATIONAL DEMONSTRATIONS THAT BRING TOGETHER THE WIDEST POSSIBLE SECTION OF SOCIETY TO SAY “NO MORE!” – AND DEMAND THE ALTERNATIVE: AN ECONOMY THAT WORKS FOR EVERYONE, NOT JUST CORPORATE PROFITS FOR THE FEW.
Join us in MK on Sat 29 Oct at 12.00 for a mass rally against more austerity and more suffering for the majority.
We will be joined by guest speakers:
Laura Pidcock (National Secretary of The People’s Assembly)
Delia Mattis (Black Lives Matter)
Andrew Hopping (CWU)
Plus local speakers, music and poetry!
The rally in MK takes place one week before the national demonstration in London on the 5th November.
