Second National Day of Action – November 5th, 2020
A union can only work with the backing of its membership. BT/Openreach are on the attack. They want to increase profit by cutting costs and that means attacking our terms and conditions and introducing compulsory redundancies for us. Your union has tried to change the companies approach, but they are not listening. It is time to show them that the union has your support.
DUE TO NEW COVID RESTRICTIONS, MEET-UPS PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED FOR THE 5th November, DID NOT GO AHEAD.
But See Below for Photos of the Wednesday 4th meetup at Luton, my they are a handsome bunch.
Count Me In Photos – 5th November – Luton
A National Consultative Ballot for industrial action is being planned and details of this will be announced on that day.
In the build up to this we will be holding a range of evening and day time Zoom calls (details can be found on our Home Page menu bar) to explain why the union is taking this action and to answer your questions.
Please join us for these calls.
First National Day of Action – October 1st 2020
BT has been served notice that the anger of its workforce will be on full public view next week as the union steps up its Count Me In campaign of resistance against multiple attacks on employees in different lines of business.
On Thursday October 1st, the CWU held its first Count Me In National Day of Action – signalling a significant ramping up of the union’s fightback against a belligerent new management approach that is sweeping across the whole of BT Group but manifesting itself in different ways. Read more »
Count Me In Photos
See below for information from our branch about national Count Me In day of activities taking place in our locality.
“Compulsory Redundancies, Office closures, Contractual Overtime, unagreed changes to terms and conditions and more. You know the issues we are all facing. Despite ongoing negotiations it is clear that BT think they can push ahead with these changes. This is not a battle that the Union’s national team or branches can win without your visible and active support.”
So on Thursday the 1st of October the union is asking you to show your support for our campaign. As per the photos above, we are asking you to take a selfie holding up the slogan “Count Me In” or a group photo (don’t forget Covid measures) and send it to us. Officer email contacts.
We will also be making visits to the following locations and would ask that if you are able to come along to show your support. ( Milton Keynes TEC Bleak Hall From 7.30am, Oxford Kidlington TEC, Reading South TEC Bennet Rd, Banbury ATE )
- If the union is to succeed in this campaign BT has to understand that it is not just about branch representatives or our national team standing up to them.
- It is every single member.
So please help us to send BT a clear message from you all.
